Chris Williams

Chris graduated in International politics and history before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and later gaining membership of the Institute of Taxation. Chris worked with major international accountancy practices before joining LMcT in 1995. He adds value to clients by ensuring they know what choices are available to them and making sure they pay the tax they need to pay and no more. You can reach him at chris.williams@lmct.co.uk

David Wright

David was appointed as a Partner in March 2000 becoming a director following the incorporation of the business on 1st October 2008. David qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1994 and obtained membership of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2010. David is a Registered Auditor and works extensively with owners of small and medium sized companies. He enjoys helping clients to set up reporting systems that enable clients to control their companies measure the development of them and protect the financial wealth that is created.

Client Services Manager

Emma Connolly

Emma joined the practice in 2001 having previously worked in a Worcestershire based independent practice. She qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2006 and was appointed as a Client Relationship Manager in 2008. Emma will get her practicing certificate in 2010. Working with small and medium sized companies, Emma specialises in Statutory and management accounting and is an expert on Sage, Quickbooks and Microsoft applications. As well as spending time on historical accounting Emma enjoys forecasting and cashflow modelling to help clients plan their future strategies and obtain business finance.

The Corporate tax department

Phil Brookes

Phil is an experienced tax manager who first joined the firm in 1991 and after a brief spell away from the practice rejoined in 2007. Phil has been a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and is currently working towards completing the qualification of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Phil specialises in handling Inland Revenue investigations and Paye and Vat enquiries and also deals with more complex corporate tax issues to include corporate, personal and IHT tax planning.

Ross Williams

Ross joined the firm in 2007 having graduated from The University College of Wales, Aberystwyth with a degree in Business Management. He qualified as a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians in 2009 and his primary work is on corporate tax compliance matters and remuneration planning. He is also our expert on all aspects of online filing of documents with HMRC.

The Accounts and Audit team

Andrew Bateman

Andrew joined the practice in 1992 and has been a manager in the accounts and audit team since 2000. He qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2007. Andrew has developed a wide range of Audit, accounting and management accounting skills across a broad sector of owner managed businesses and enjoys helping with Sage and management accounting issues.

Sharan Wright

Originally joined the practice in 1994 and qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1997. From 1998 she had a spell away from the business working for a top ten Accounting practice specialising in audit work for medium and large UK and International companies. Sharan rejoined Lowe McTernan in 2004 and continues to specialise in Audit and managing the more complex accounts preparation assignments for the practice.

Jess Smith

Jess joined the practice in 2005 having completed her A Levels. Jess has had a spectacular run of success in her accounting studies and completed the examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2009 having achieved first time passes at every level. Now that her exams are completed Jess is looking forward to helping clients meet their statutory audit, accounting and management accounting requirements.

Andrew, Sharan and Jess are supported by fellow colleagues in the accounts and audit department who have varying levels of skill and experience across many business sectors. All of the team members are given the opportunity of first class professional training to enable them to qualify with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales or the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Personal tax department

Deborah Morris, Michelle Henfield and Tracey Hall are responsible for all of the personal tax compliance issues for our directors, soletraders, partners and personal tax clients as well as dealing with all P11d and other personal tax compliance matters. They have a wealth of experience gained over many years with the practice and have built up excellent relationships with their clients and contacts.

Payroll and Company secretarial services

The payroll team is headed up by Sheila Barton who has been our payroll manager for over 20 years and is supported by Tracey Whitehouse and June Hassan. A significant proportion of our clients find that outsourcing their payroll function proves to be a cost effective and efficient way of dealing with this ever more complex activity. The skills the team bring to the table are valued extremely highly by the clients that benefit from the service that is provided.

Jeanette Brookes deals with all company secretarial issues which include company formations, name changes, the appointment and resignation of directors and the completion of Annual returns and other company registration issues.

Practice manager

Debbie Bennett

Debbie Bennett is the practice manager and is responsible for the day to day operation of the business as well as looking after the continually developing internal IT issues for the practice.
